FAQ & Troubleshooter

I get a lot of "Not found" cards!

Let's double check if everything is alright.

Did you remove the lens cap from the camera? (Happened to me..)

Did you select the correct game you're working on?

Did you focus camera lenses? Triple check that, images should be REALLY sharp. Usually you should turn it until the image gets blurry and you have to turn the other way.

Are the cards facing upward? Unless you checked the option Upside down inside the Advanced Settings, Magic Sorter will always expect cards to be in a specific direction.

Did you correctly crop the card? The image should only contain the full card, with little external data. Please remember that when you're testing crop values, you should do that with ONLY ONE CARD INSIDE THE POSITION. The machine will compensate for cards' pile height, automatically adjusting it.

Do you have any reflection on it? Reflected area are basically a blind spot to the recognition engine, making it harder to detect the correct image. A little of it is not a problem, but if the area is really big, it's basically a completely white image to the engine.

You can check what's the machine currently seeing by selecting the Review Images section.

Please note that by choice tokens, art cards and any other "non-standard" cards are not inside the database. Those cards have been removed since they could provide false positives, so we prefer having a "Not found" result.

Finally, if you are using Custom Sets, double check which ones you selected, since if the result is not inside the selected sets, even if recognized, it will be transformed into a "Not Found" result.
