This is a fair question that we get several times, so we thought it was time to address it once and for all.

Usually, in the early days of Magic Sorter, we were used to announce the support of a new set by creating a post in our blog and then write on our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter - yeah, it was called Twitter when we started).
Things were slow and easy: there was only Magic: The Gathering and a new expansion was added every 3 months or so. So we had plenty of time to prepare the images and track down when new cards were added to the database.
Then we added Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokèmon.
More sets, but still manageable. At least those two games have a pretty relaxed schedule for releases.
Then Magic: The Gathering went crazy and started to release so many sets that it seems almost impossible to keep track of them.
Then we added more games, with more expansion, mixed release dates, pre-releases...
Well, it's a mess.
As you can easily image, it really started to be complicated to create a nice post for each new set added, since this means posting almost every day.
So what we did? We automated everything!
We update our database daily with new cards and we train our recognition engine almost every day. Everything is fully automated: from taking card information from the external databases, gathering the image for the cards, training the correct recognition engine for the game to deploy the new models to all the nodes in our cloud infrastructure.
So, to answer your initial question: when new cards are added? Almost every day, as soon as you have them in your hand, most likely the recognition engine is already ready to go. Worst case scenario, the next day it will be ready for you.
